Week 3 Post 1: Aesthetics, Design and Branding

A professional website is always important to draw in customers who will order. The colors were a bit shocking on Penny Juice dot com. I would suggest a uniform array of colors appealing to owners of childcare facilities. Hiring a professional to set up the page with a flowing layout would help with new traffic and customers. Stock photos are a nice start for a page, but adding real customers drinking the juice would add a personal touch. One of the social media links featured take you to their Facebook page. On this page the profile picture is a little frightening. The picture is the Beetle Juice character from the feature film. As I love the movie, it does not match the company story. I would change the profile picture to the juice or children enjoying the juice. The ease of the product should be advertised across all forms of media. There is an array of possibilities to promote Penny Juice with just pennies, if done right!

A website that is easy to navigate is key to success. Dark colors may disappear into the background. The red font featured along the left side of the page is very difficult to read against the black background. If the font was changed to a lighter color, it would be better visually to visitors of this page. The flashing banner that runs across the screen is distracting and unnecessary. They could add the same text without it being distracting for the eyes. I really loved the car pictures on the page. If the pictures were all in one area with a rotating slide show, the page wouldn't seem so busy. The company has their social media links on the bottom of the webpage. I would make these links a bit larger to draw customers to see their work. It is exciting to see their finished projects and I would feature this!

Escondido Center for Performing Arts has a clear and inviting web presence on arts center dot org. The pleasant color palate leads me to explore and enjoy what arts events are to come. The buttons are very clear and easy to see. On the top of the homepage they feature the next upcoming event. Social Media is represented with clear buttons at the bottom of the page. I was left wanting to explore more events, in turn making me a ticket purchaser!

Pictures really do paint a picture of where your adventures can take you. on nps dot gov the National Park Service really speaks "picture yourself here". The formatting of the pictures is very clean, clear and organized. Clicking through to their Social Media pages, you can visualize how other visitors spend their time in the parks. The colors flow and pop to capture your attention. Information is constantly being updated with the articles section as well as kids information on ideas for the whole family. I will be visiting this page often to get ideas on where to explore next!
