Week 1 Post 2: Introduction to Social Media
Many forms of social Media have evolved from their creation.
The original intentions many have matured with their audience. Technology is
amazing like that!
Personal Social Media platforms like Snap Chat, TikTok and
Instagram have us all on our cell phones and tablets checking out the newest
buzz. We share our photos with ease to our friends, family and even strangers. Photos
entice us to go on new adventures and be our best selves.
Businesses look towards platforms like Linked in and Twitter
to share articles and statements. We often see a business share a link or press
release on accomplishments they have made. Industries have formed groups and you
are able to list your company in your profile. Linked in forms a resume style
format where your colleagues and businesses are able to view your past. These
practices lend themselves to business culture.
The Social Media network has grown and audiences have
changed. Facebook is a great example of an app that is used across all society.
The once College “Book” has grabbed the attention of businesses and is now a
global advertising platform. We can’t get enough of this page. Grandmas are able to post pictures of visits
to their grand kids showing off their accomplishments. Non-Profit organizations
are able to raise funds for supplies needed to function. Businesses are excited
to have quick results from cost effective ad campaigns that can be run from
their phone. This form of Social Media has become both personal and business.
