Week 14 Post 2: Class Experience

CSIT 155 Class Experience Before this class I thought I had rhythm and a good idea of timing for my posts on social media and promotions. Then Covid 19 happened. People were looking on Social Media different times and literally all day long. I had felt that I couldn't post anything, because nothing was happening! I had been so focused on the now and didn't think outside of the box. Analytics have shown the the facts are in the numbers! Our Facebook account has been active for many years, well before I took over management of it 2 years ago. As a volunteer on a board of directors I just needed to report how many followers we had each month at our meeting. The primary focus before was to post pictures of us. I always thought... boring! Followers need to see a mix of pictures, videos, shared content, etc. Class has helped me create a color palate and uniformity to my posts. I want visitors to visit and say, oh that looks amazing. I can now, with the statistics, see when peopl...

Week 14 Post 1: Planning Your Future Strategy

Image
Planning Future Strategy for San Diego Concierge Association Social Media Platforms Twitter is a platform that I never thought twice about. After this class I have learned that there is more business driven promotions and feedback being made on there. Linked in Groups are a great way to gather our Concierge and Hospitality members. On Linked in we can promote more of our gatherings and events to a broader business audience. Business Tools I look forward to including an analytics tool to our website. I have all the data gathering on Facebook and I have never sat down to examine. Looking at this data can mold the time of day that I post and share to our followers. Having a uniform look and color palate will be pleasing to our audiences eye and keep them coming back. Planning and Plotting Scheduling time in my day, actually placing it in my calendar will help to stay in front of our audience. Social Media for a business is a job and not just a fun way to share your d...

Week 13 Post 2: Facebook Analytics

Image
Facebook Analytics for  San Diego Concierge Association Facebook analytics is a great tool to examine what posts are doing well for your business page. So many people enjoyed my post on May 16th featuring the new pygmy hippo born at the San Diego Zoo! Normally I don't get as many views with a re-post... but everyone loves a baby animal! We all patiently await the San Diego Zoo's opening. People are viewing differently than before the stay at home orders. When before I had more views in the morning and in the evening... people seem to be viewing all day long now! While post engagement and post reach are up, we are down in page views. It is a little difficult because our organisation depends on travel and npw one is traveling at the moment. Most of our hotels have, in fact closed. Posting a throwback or group photo of our member and a past event would help on engagement and may even draw page views if I get more likes on the post. After reading over the Hootsuite s...

Week 13 Post 1: Optimizing Yourself & the Company

Image
Optimizing Yourself & the Company Google Analytics I added the google analytics to my page in April for the extra credit. Now that is has been on my page for a month you can really get some information from it. If I were to add this to my business page (blog on website) it would give me useful information to help with target marketing. From these numbers I can see how many times people visited my blog. This data is interesting because it shows the time of day people were on the internet. Most visits were at night between 7pm-10pm. On this chart I can see how well I retained viewership.

Week 12 Post 2: Creating Sample Ads

Image
Creating Sample Ads I wanted to create engagement with this Instagram Ad. It is placed in my stories and used commonly used hashtags to get more views. I added a poll to engage people, hoping to gain more followers. As a non-profit (not selling goods), it is important for us to gain followers and people who look to us for advise for when they travel. I used pictures from my last visit to these places. I like to use my own pictures because I believe that it creates a sense on realness to the posts.  A real person posted for our page not a computer generated or hired PR firm. Hashtags used: #SanDiego #SanDiegoZoo #SeaworldSanDiego #Hospitality #VisitSanDiego I wanted to create engagement in this second post be including other businesses in San Diego. In this post people can screen shot and use in their own feed. When creating, I included out information at the bottom so that when they re-post viewers will see out page. I hope to gain followers by doing this. It is al...

Week 12 Post 1: Research & Developing Online Advertising

Week 11 Post 2: Researching online tools

Researching Online Tools LinkedIn Groups San Diego Concierge Association can use a Linked in group page as a nutrition board to post and interact with members. There are may ways to connect to other businesses in your field. Collaborating is so important, especially the hospitality world. -Event Posts -City of San Diego Announcements -Education opportunities Twitter Twitter gives businesses real-time interactions. SDCAonline.org We have the availability to add a calendar to out website. Canva When advertising for meetings, I would like to make the advertisements more uniform. Having lur colors highlighting pictures and creative text would be nice. Currently, our Board of Directors met via Zoom. We discussed ways we can have future meetings if we are unable to meet with our 70 members. Facebook or Instagram Live were discussed. Instagram Live will be a great opportunity for us to conduct interviews and have, not only our members, but others view what we do. In regular ...

Week 11 Post 1: Using other online tools

Using Other Online Tools San Diego Concierge Association is built on networking and making connections. We learn from others. In this health crisis it has been difficult to connect. We can only contact so much on Zoom calls. Platforms that I am looking at would be places that we can interact and network. We are not selling, just informing. It is important to be seen on the internet. LinkedIn is a great way to network online. The past weeks I've been told to review my personal page and update. In the current state and marketplace, it is a great idea! Many people post articles and business news on their page. This may be a Facebook of sorts for business. I created a San Diego Concierge Association Group on LinkedIn last year. Currently we have 3 members in this group. I would like to learn how to grow this group. Posting as the group would be great marketing so that other groups may see articles or events that we hold. Twitter is a platform that I don't know anything about...
